If there was ever a Golden Age of Trucking, it’s hard to argue against the 1970s for being that time. The freedom and independence of trucking resonated with the country at large. And that spirit was reflected in the pages of CCJ. Issues of the magazine from this era are bulging with feature stories and glossy, expansive advertisements which unabashedly used sex to sell. It was a different world; one that many truckers of a certain age recall fondly today.
