Schedule set for annual Wreaths Across America convoy

What has become known as the country’s longest veterans’ parade -- Wreaths Across America’s annual “Escort to Arlington” -- will kick off on Saturday, December 6.

The official route, which can be viewed here, will travel down the East Coast, stopping at schools, memorials, and other locations along the way to spread the year-long mission to “Remember the fallen, Honor those who serve, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom,” the organization said.

Stops with public events will be held in Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Washington D.C., before arriving at Arlington National Cemetery on the morning of Saturday, Dec. 13, National Wreaths Across America Day. Those interested can tune in to Wreaths Across America Radio to hear live coverage from escort events throughout the week.

For the 11th year in a row, Chevrolet has provided the 10 wrapped escort vehicles, including an All-Electric Silverado EV, to transport participating Gold Star and Blue Star family members and veterans during the week-long trip. In addition, Chevrolet has sponsored 4,000 veterans’ wreaths for placement by volunteers at Arlington National Cemetery to help remember our nation’s service members.

This year’s participants include national leaders from American Gold Star Mothers, the American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the VFW Auxiliary, AMVETS, and other Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs). Members of the Patriot Guard Riders, Patriot Riders, and law enforcement from departments across Maine and New England will provide escort to ensure safe transport for all participants throughout the week.

The Escort to Arlington has grown to consist of 13 tractor-trailers representing American Trucking Associations - Workforce Heroes, Cari’s Blessing, Bennett Motor Express LLC (CCJ Top 250, No. 34), Brown Dog Carriers, Cargo Transporters (No. 167), Delhaize Transportation LLC (DBA Hannaford Supermarkets), H.O. Wolding, Inc. (DBA Bison Transport USA) (No. 37), Interstate Van Lines, Merchants Distributors Inc. (MDI), NFI (No. 20), Schneider National (No. 6), Sherwin-Williams Company, and Witte Bros. Exchange.

Additionally, Load One Carriers (No. 148) will again serve as the ceremonial wreath transporter for the week.

These fleets and their drivers will haul a portion of the sponsored veterans’ wreaths designated for placement by thousands of volunteers at Arlington National Cemetery on National Wreaths Across America Day.

What began 33 years ago as a pilgrimage by a Maine wreath maker in a single truck to deliver 5,000 wreaths to Arlington National Cemetery as a gesture of thanks has become a year-long mission to Remember, Honor, Teach. National Wreaths Across America Day ceremonies will take place at more than 5,500 participating locations nationwide on Saturday, Dec. 13.

Rooftop marker light issue prompts Volvo VNL recall

Volvo Trucks North America is recalling more than 3,000 of its new VNL tractors due to an issue with the roof marker lights.

According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration documents, approximately 3,124 model year 2025-’26 Volvo VNL trucks are being recalled because the roof center marker lights may fail to illuminate. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Marker lights that fail to illuminate can reduce visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash, the recall notes.

Dealers will replace the center roof marker light, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Jan. 2. Owners can contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 800-528-6586 with recall number RVXX2509. NHTSA’s recall number is 25V-757.

Nearly 9,000 Mack Granites recalled for headlight failure

Mack Trucks is recalling approximately 8,857 model year 2024-’25 Mack Granite units equipped with LED headlights. The headlights in the affected trucks could fail, the recall states.

Recall documents note that “inadequate design of the ball basket mount and lack of appropriate routing and clipping points to protect harnesses” has caused the issue.

Dealers will replace the LED headlights, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Jan. 2. Owners may contact Mack's customer service at 1-800-866-1177 with recall number SC0485. NHTSA’s recall number is 25V-756.

Car-hauling Volvo trucks recalled for seat belt issue

Volvo Trucks has also recalled approximately 242 model year 2019-’26 VAH models, which are designed for auto-haul applications.

In the affected trucks, the passenger seat belt anchor may fail due to inadequate floor reinforcement. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."

Dealers will install a new weld nut and washer, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Jan. 2. Owners can contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 1-800-528-6586 with recall number RVXX2510. NHTSA’s recall number is 25V-753.
