Don Osterberg, former senior vice president of safety, security, driver training and regulatory compliance for Schneider (CCJ Top 250, No. 6), and Annette Sandberg, principal and CEO at TransSafe Consulting, and former Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and former Deputy Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, have been named to Stack AV's Safety Advisory Council.

Stack AV is a developer of autonomous trucking solutions and its Safety Advisory Council is charged with providing strategic guidance and external oversight to the company’s business practices and standards, particularly relating to enhancing safety in the trucking industry. The Safety Advisory Council is composed of independent, third-party experts with decades of experience in security, safety practice and transportation technology. The Council will help ensure Stack AV continues to execute on its mission to revolutionize the transportation of goods, all while adhering to strong safety practices and working with local authorities to ensure compliance with regulations as it expands into new markets.

Osterberg and Sandberg join Robert Sumwalt, executive director of the Boeing Center for Aviation and Aerospace Safety at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and former Chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board; David Kelly, vice president of government solutions at Acusensus and former acting administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration; and Todd Doss, senior managing director at Guidepost Solutions and former Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation with a diverse background in managing and coordinating responses to complex security incidents, including cyberattacks, data breaches, and insider threats.

“Safety must be at the core of company culture and embodied by all employees – it is absolutely essential to success," Sumwalt said. "From the start, Stack AV has chosen to proactively form the Safety Advisory Council and publish the inaugural VSSA to demonstrate that even this early in the company’s lifecycle, Stack AV is committed to safety in all it does. Upholding this commitment is key to ensuring that Stack AV remains at the forefront of developing and implementing safety practices as the company scales and executes on its important mission."
