A U.S. postal carrier in Memphis, Tenn. was arrested for participating in a drug distribution network which involved at least three street gangs.
A seven-month long investigation dubbed “Wait a minute Mr. Postman” resulted in 14 arrests so far on Thursday, including that of Letravius Shaw, a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service.
Shaw and 24 others face felony drug and conspiracy charges. Memphis police reported that the bust turned up fentanyl, cocaine, marijuana and Oxycodone pills. Three motorcycles, 33 vehicles, 13 guns and $22,000 in cash were seized.
Officers say Shaw helped a gang member bring drugs into the city through the post office, according to wreg.com.
Among those arrested and indicted include members of the Grape Street Crips, the Traveling Vice Lords and the Gangster Disciples.
