Yellow Corporation announced a new Web service that will allow its customers to retrieve tracking information and incorporate it into their workflow, reporting and display processes. The Web service uses Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), an XML-based protocol for exchange of information, to automatically integrate shipping information with the electronic business systems of Yellow customers.


Xata Corporation announced that Pilot Travel Centers is now using the company’s satellite capabilities. Pilot, a Xata customer since 1996, currently operates Xata’s OpCenter fleet management solution at more than 60 distribution centers throughout 40 states.


Manhattan Associates has completed the acquisition of certain Logistics.com assets from Internet Capital Group for a one-time cash payment of approximately $20 million. Logistics.com assets included in the purchase cover shipper and carrier management and contractual and spot procurement across all modes of domestic and international transportation.
