Phillips Industries’ PermaLite interior trailer lights are based on the company’s patented MRS technology, which uses LED-based lamps. PermaLite offers what the company calls ‘lifetime lighting,’ while remaining competitive with the total cost-of-ownership of fluorescent products.
According to Phillips, truck operators can expect over 100,000 hours of light, with a current draw of less than half that of competitive fluorescent products. And, the lower heat output of the PermaLite dome lamp is an advantage in reefer applications.
PermaLite dome lamps are also much more forgiving of low trailer voltages – they fully light at power levels as low as 6 volts. As an added benefit, the lamps are compatible with the rapidly emerging, standard mounting hole for fluorescent dome lamps, allowing drop-in replacement.
