MHC Kenworth Texas was named 2005 Kenworth Dealer of the Year for the United States and Canada at the annual Kenworth Dealer Meeting held recently in Palm Springs, Calif. Inland Kenworth-United States was named 2005 Kenworth Medium Duty Dealer of the Year.

“MHC Kenworth Texas achieved a very high standard of dealer excellence in 2005,” says Bob Christensen, Kenworth general manager and Paccar vice president. “Their employees are extremely passionate and dedicated about serving customers.”

MHC Kenworth Texas was chosen as Kenworth Dealer of the Year from among Kenworth’s six Gold Award winners for 2005. Other Gold Award winners are Edmonton Kenworth (Edmonton, Alberta), French-Ellison Truck Centers (Pharr, Texas), GreatWest Kenworth (Calgary, Alberta), Inland Kenworth-United States (California, Arizona and New Mexico) and Truck Enterprises-Harrisonburg (Harrisonburg, Va.).

“The Kenworth Dealer of the Year award is a great honor, and we’re extremely proud of the MHC Kenworth Texas team that works so hard every day to take care of customers,” says Tim Murphy, MHC Kenworth president, at corporate headquarters in Kansas City, Mo. “Our philosophy is to do whatever it takes to serve customers, including offering extended hours for parts and service, mobile maintenance, and all the Kenworth PremierCare programs.”

MHC Kenworth Texas includes locations serving Dallas, South Dallas, El Paso, Fort Worth, Longview, Texarkana and Waco. “Our customer support will be further enhanced with the addition of two new facilities coming soon,” Murphy says. “A new 45,000-square-foot, full-service facility is being built on 24 acres off I-20 in South Dallas, and a new 35,000-square-foot, full-service facility on six acres will serve Waco. These significant investments are part of our continuing commitment to customers.”

“It is quite an honor for Inland Kenworth to receive Kenworth’s Medium Duty Dealer of the Year Award for its U.S. operations in Arizona, California and New Mexico,” says Jim Beiderwieden, Inland Kenworth president, at corporate headquarters in Burnaby, British Columbia. “The Kenworth T300 is an outstanding medium-duty vehicle, and customers especially appreciate its performance, quality and low life-cycle cost. We have made the medium-duty customer an important part of our business by investing in medium-duty personnel, parts and service to support their needs.”

That kind of customer appreciation and dealer support for the Kenworth T300 contributed to Kenworth’s reception of the 2005 J.D. Power and Associates awards for “Highest in Customer Satisfaction in the Conventional Medium Duty Truck Segment and Medium Duty Dealer Service.”

“Inland Kenworth has been very aggressive in successfully expanding its medium-duty business,” Christensen says. “Inland Kenworth’s U.S. operations led Kenworth dealers in both T300 sales and in placing PacLease units, many of which are medium-duty trucks. Their employees are committed to providing World’s Best support, which is another key reason for Inland Kenworth’s success.”
