A. Duie Pyle (No. 87 in the CCJ Top 250) announced last week it has been named to Food Logistics 2018 List, awarded to the company for incorporating sustainable practices in its warehouses, docks and fleet.
The annual list recognizes companies whose products, services or exemplary leadership enhance sustainability within the food and beverage industry, the carrier says.
In addition to incorporating sustainability practices throughout its facilities and fleets, Pyle implemented an ongoing employee feedback program to lower its carbon footprint by utilizing more sustainable driving practices. The carrier says the program helped Pyle save 101,230 gallons of fuel and 2.2 million pounds in carbon dioxide emissions in a three month period.
