Pegasus TransTech, the leading provider of document scanning applications to the transportation industry, announced that Red Classic has chosen Transflo scanning to improve operating efficiency, streamline settlements and accelerate cash flow.

Red Classic, based in Charlotte, N.C., is a full-service transportation company specializing in van truckload shipping. A wholly owned subsidiary of Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated, Red Classic is committed to providing top quality service at a competitive price with operations that include asset and non-asset transportation and commercial maintenance.

Red Classic implemented Transflo Express truck stop scanning and the Transflo Mobile app in March, 2014, to provide drivers with convenient and reliable options for submitting proof-of-delivery and other trip documents.

Red Classic Transit, the asset-based transportation division, has a mixed fleet of approximately 340 company drivers and 60 owner operators that service a network spanning the southeastern portion of the United States. Red Classic plans to grow the owner operator segment of its fleet.

Before using Transflo, drivers had to return to a facility to hand off documents to meet the weekly cutoff date for settlements.

“Being on the road for a week and batching documents together on the weekend could result in drivers missing our settlement deadline,” said Ron Drogan, president of Red Classic. “This situation was inhibiting our growth by slowing the settlement process. At the same time, it was delaying our invoicing.”

Red Classic now receives high-quality images from drivers within 24 hours of delivery.

“Transflo gives us the ability to scan documents in the field on a daily basis. We can now spread the work out over time, expedite and improve the accuracy of our settlements and invoicing process.  It also improves our cash flow,” he continued.

The company is using an optional, custom feature of Transflo Mobile that prompts drivers to identify captured documents by type — bill of lading, expense receipt, etc. — to further expedite workflow.

“The automated process keeps our staffing resources down and creates a convenience for our customers to find proof-of-delivery documents whenever they need them,” Drogan said. “Drivers also have confidence that their documents were received by the office.”

Transflo Express has more than 950 full-service scan locations, including all Pilot Flying J and Love’s Travel Center stores, making it the nation’s largest scanning network with 24/7 availability. Transflo Mobile is a user-friendly, enterprise-grade mobile app that drivers can download to their personal smartphones and tablets for free.

“With Transflo scanning solutions, companies like Red Classic are able to expand their geographical footprint without adding physical locations to manage paper documents,” said Frank Adelman, president and CEO of Pegasus TransTech. “Transflo enables a centralized, fast, efficient and accurate billing and settlement process.”
