General Motors Fleet and Commercial unveiled the 2003 Chevy Express and GMC Savana full-size vans. The new work vans offer an all-new look, upgraded powertrains and enhanced safety and reliability and exclusive new features for the commercial user, the company says.
Improvements for the 2003 models include all-wheel drive models, left-hand-side 60/40 entry/load door availability, and side access panels on the work-oriented Express Access and Savana Pro models. The side panels allow access to tools and parts from both sides of the vehicle to save time and steps.
Both models use the Gen III V8 Vortec engines – the 275 horsepower Vortec 4800, 285-horse Vortec 5300 and Vortec 6000 with 300 hp. All models come standard with a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive – and for the first time, GM’s unique Tow/Haul Mode feature is now available. Four wheel disc brakes and 16-inch wheels come standard. The 2003 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana will be available in dealer showrooms in the 3rd quarter of 2002.
