The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s scrutiny of electronic logging devices continued Wednesday, March 4, with the agency’s revocation of 14 more devices from its Registered Devices list.
Of the 14 ELDs revoked Wednesday, 10 are from the Gorilla Fleet Safety company. A company spokesperson said Gorilla Fleet Safety is “aware of the recent change to the registration status of several” of its ELDs and that it is “actively working with the FMCSA to address the matter.”
The company added that its “team is engaged with the agency to ensure all necessary steps are taken to maintain full compliance with the ELD program requirements. Our top priority is supporting the fleets, drivers, and partners who rely on the Gorilla Safety platform every day. We are communicating directly with impacted customers and will continue to provide guidance and updates as we work through the process with the FMCSA.”
The revocations bring Gorilla's total number of revoked ELDs to 18 within the last year, after eight were revoked by FMCSA last May. Gorilla said of those eight that the company had "revamped its core product offering from the inside out" and thus ended support for a number of devices in late 2024 after moving users to different devices.
FMCSA said the total 14 devices newly placed on the Revoked list Wednesday were there due to the ELD providers’ “failure to meet the minimum requirements established in Title 49 CFR Appendix A to Subpart B of Part 395.”

- Club ELD Android, model number PT30, from Club ELD
- Club ELD iOS, model number PT30, from Club ELD
- SaferLogs, model number PT30, from Dendra Inc.
- EGreen ELD, model number EGREENELD1, from EGreen ELD
- Canada & US by Gorilla Safety, model number CUSGEOAN, from Gorilla Fleet Safety
- Patriot ELD, model number PE0001, from Gorilla Fleet Safety
- ClearPath ELD, formerly known as Trucker Path Pro, model number TP-Pro, from Gorilla Fleet Safety
- SimpleX 2 Go, model number SIM2GO, from Gorilla Fleet Safety
- LB Technologies FleetTrack ELD, model number LBFTELD, from Gorilla Fleet Safety
- HCSS Pro, model number HCSSPR, from Gorilla Fleet Safety
- ELDX Pro, model number ELDXP, from Gorilla Fleet Safety
- AllwaysTrack ELD, model number ALLTRE, from Gorilla Fleet Safety

“Meeting federal requirements isn’t optional. If a device falls short, it will be removed," said FMCSA Administrator Derek Barrs. "We enforce the standard fairly and firmly because safety depends on it."
Motor carriers and drivers have up to 60 days to replace the revoked ELDs with compliant devices. Motor carriers and anyone using the devices are encouraged to stop using the revoked devices and revert to paper logs or logging software to record hours of service data, and replace the device with a registered device by May 4.
Before May 4, drivers should not be cited for using a revoked ELD, but after that date, those continuing to use the revoked devices will be considered as operating without an ELD at the roadside.
If the ELD providers correct the identified deficiencies for their devices, FMCSA will place the ELD back on the list of registered devices and inform the industry of the update. However, FMCSA strongly encourages motor carriers to take the actions listed above now to avoid compliance issues in the event that the deficiencies are not addressed by the ELD provider.
