Ryder to provide diesel tech training to transitioning military vets

Ryder has announced it will begin a pilot program this month that will provide hands-on diesel technician training to military veterans exiting the military.

The program is a result of Ryder’s new partnership with┬áthe U.S. Army’s Soldier For Life – Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP), which provides transition assistance to eligible soldiers.

After completing the 12-week training, graduates will be placed in open technician positions at Ryder locations across the country, the company says. The first three weeks of the training program will take place at Fort Sill in Oklahoma, and the remaining nine weeks will be held at a Ryder maintenance shop in Oklahoma City.
