TransWood Carriers, No. 131 in the CCJ Top 250, announced last week it has acquired Kane Transport, a 150-truck bulk carrier based in Minnesota.

Transwood, based in Omaha, Nebraska, operates around 800 trucks in the liquid and dry bulk segment. Kane hauls petroleum and construction products and ag commodities regionally in the midwest. The acquisition increases Transwood’s service area, the company says, and  adds six locations to its existing network of 35 locations across the country.

“Kane is a strategic addition to the TransWood family. Kane’s pledge to quality, and on time service, without compromising on safety, or the environmental stewardship are major factors in this acquisition;” Brian Wood, President of TransWood stated.

Kane’s day to day operations will continue with the Kane family and current management team in place. Pete Kane will serve as general manager, and Pat Kane will serve as operations manager. Future plans will include integrating TransWood’s technology and operations experience to enhance Kane’s ability to service their customers.
