The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities reported that one lane of the Dalton Highway at the Atigun Pass was reopened today following an avalanche on Monday that struck four tractor-trailers, leaving two of them buried under snow.

According to DOTPF no one was injured at the time of the 7:30 p.m. Monday slide which struck four semis traveling between Mile 241 and Mile 248. The highway had been closed since Monday.

Crews worked to remove the trapped trucks and conducted avalanche mitigation, including using howitzers to release more snow on surrounding hillsides. All of the drivers escaped from the trucks following the slide, according to adn.com.

A dash cam mounted in one of the trucks recorded the avalanche.
