Nissan announced prices on its 2021 Nissan NV Cargo Van and 2021 Nissan NV Passenger Van, the final model year for a series that has endured for 10 years in an increasingly competitive space.
The NV Cargo features a starting MSRP of $30,540 (a $400 uptick from model year 2020), and the 4-row/12-passenger NV 3500 Passenger has a starting MSRP of $36,760 (also a $400 increase from the prior model year). Both vans are available now at select Nissan Commercial Vehicle dealers nationwide.
The NV Cargo offers the only available high roof model in the segment with body-on-frame construction. Both the NV Cargo and NV Passenger are available with a 375-horsepower 5.6-liter Endurance V8 gasoline engine with a heavy-duty 7-speed automatic transmission. Both models are also offered with a 261-horsepower 4.0-liter V6 with 5-speed automatic transmission.
All 2021 NV Cargo and NV Passenger models come with Nissan’s America’s Best Commercial Van Warranty featuring bumper-to-bumper limited warranty coverage of 5 years/100,000 miles, whichever comes first.

2021 NV Cargo High RoofThe 2021 Nissan NV Cargo Van features long, wide cargo floor, square-top wheelwell housings and nearly vertical sidewalls, room enough to fit two 40×48-inch pallets, 10-foot piping or 4×8-foot drywall sheets. The Nissan NV Cargo provides body-on-frame construction across the entire lineup, including with a high roof, which provides most users the ability to walk, stand and work in the cargo area.
For 2021, the NV Cargo lineup has been streamlined, yet still offers an array of three grade levels, two powerplants and two roof configurations including six standard roof and five high roof models. In addition, NissanConnect with Navigation and Mobile Partner is now standard on 3500 SV and SL grades.

2021 Nissan NV Passenger
The 4-row/12-passenger 2021 Nissan NV3500 HD Passenger Van is marketed for both personal and fleet use. It features flexible seating configurations, roof-mounted curtain supplemental air bags with rollover sensors for side-impact and rollover head protection for all outboard passengers, and standard headrests and integrated seat belts for all rear seating positions.
For 2021, the NV SV grade joins the NV SL grade in featuring standard NissanConnect Navigation and Mobile Partner with 5.8-inch color touch-screen display, Voice Recognition for navigation and audio, and SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link (SiriusXM subscription required, sold separately).
The 2021 Nissan NV Passenger Van is offered in three models: the NV3500 HD S, the NV3500 HD SV and NV3500 HD SL (V8 engine only).

The end of the NV lineup
Nissan announced roughly two weeks ago that production of its NV vans would be coming to a close with the 2021 model year at a time when swelling online commerce continues to drive growth in final mile and P&D segments.
Ford, which has dominated commercial vehicle sales, reported “incredible growth” for its Transit vans as swelling online commerce drives growth in final mile and P&D. A new Parcel Delivery Package are among the new options for 2021 Transit.
Nissan said it was aggressively re-tooling its commercial offerings and would be revealing 10 new products in 20 months with six coming to showrooms by the end of 2021, of which all will be available via its Business Advantage, Nissan’s new commercial vehicle facing business push.
“Success in North America is critical to the Nissan NEXT transformation plan, and we are concentrating on our core business and products,” said Michael Colleran, senior vice president, Nissan U.S. Marketing and Sales.
Dropping the NV, which was introduced in 2011, would seem to remove Nissan from the pickup and delivery, final mile and many light construction segments, spaces currently dominated by Ford’s Transit commercial van. However, Colleran, noted “from three Nissan Frontier pickups for a pest-control business to several Nissan Rogues for pharmaceutical representatives to make doctor calls, Nissan provides customized vehicle solutions for nearly anyone.”
Sales of vans in the U.S., through established business certified dealers (for NV Cargo and Passenger), will continue through calendar year 2021, or until supply is exhausted.
