Daimler Trucks announced Monday that it is returning to Iran after international sanctions were lifted following the country’s agreement to halt its nuclear arms program.

Reuters reports Daimler Trucks has signed a letter of intent to partner with Iran Khodro Diesel and Iran’s Mammut Group to produce Mercedes-Benz trucks and powertrain components.

There are also plans to open a Mercedes-Benz truck dealership in the Middle Eastern nation.

In addition, Daimler’s Mitsubishi FUSO trucks will be heading to Iranian highways following a distribution agreement the company signed with Mammut.

Daimler also plans to regain its shareholder status in the Iranian Diesel Engine Manufacturing Co.

Daimler Trucks, based in Stuttgart, Germany, reports that it will open a representative office in Tehran during the first quarter of 2016.

Before the year’s out, Mercedes-Benz Axor and Actros trucks may be imported to the country as fully disassembled kits, known as completely knocked down, or CKD.

Daimler halted business dealings with Iran in 2010 following international sanctions. Prior to those sanctions, the company had been selling 10,000 vehicles per year.
