Saia LTL Freight, Inc., one of the largest LTL fleets in the U.S., has successfully outfitted its entire fleet with Vnomics’ eLogs technology. The six-month roll-out to all of Saia’s 4,327 drivers was completed in December 2013.

Saia says its goal is to promote a safe, productive environment for its drivers. “We sought to reduce the hassle and time associated with paper logs,” said Brian Balius, Saia vice president of transportation and engineering. “Vnomics’ eLogs make tracking hours-of-service more manageable for our drivers, and I’ve heard from them first-hand that it’s made their lives easier. One driver who was skeptical in the beginning now says she never wants to go back to paper logs.”

Vnomics eLogs also allow Saia’s safety and compliance staff to easily monitor compliance in real-time through Vnomics’ FleetViewer web portal. Saia’s staff receives alerts for pending and actual violations. Any changes in HOS regulations are automatically pushed to Vnomics’ devices to ensure 100 percent compliance.

“Vnomics is committed to helping fleets become safer and more compliant. We’re thrilled to hear how our eLogs system is helping Saia, one of the largest fleets in the country, operate more safely and efficiently,” said David Chauncey, Vnomics president.

Since 2011, Saia says it has benefited from Vnomics’ complete fleet management system, including real-time driver coaching, TrueFuel mpg potential analysis, real-time alerting and reporting, and other cost-saving tools.
