Schneider Logistics announced it has been selected by Honeywell Specialty Materials, a global producer of specialty chemicals and materials, to manage the group’s shipping logistics within North America. Under the contract, Honeywell Specialty Materials will use Schneider Logistics’ transportation management solutions and supply chain management technology. Honeywell Specialty Materials is a strategic business group of Honeywell, a $26 billion diversified technology and manufacturing leader.

The Schneider Logistics solution for Honeywell will include integrated supply chain management and transportation management solutions. At Honeywell’s Specialty Materials Logistics Center in Chesterfield, Va., Schneider will deploy 14 onsite logistics professionals to support Specialty Materials’ Chemicals, Electronic Materials, Performance Products and intermediates businesses. Specifically, the dedicated staff will help the company manage load execution and track and manage its rail car fleet using Sumit, Schneider’s proprietary electronic information and application hub. In addition, the company’s technology tools will aid the reporting process through further visibility into all points of the supply chain.
In addition to working with Schneider National as a dedicated client for the past five years, Honeywell also will take advantage of Schneider Logistics’ Sole Source Transportation Management service to manage all of its transportation needs with the benefit of flexible and committed capacity.
