Atlas Ergonomics has announced that Con-way Truckload Services, a division of Con-way Inc., has signed an agreement with the company to provide technology and services designed to improve quality of life for drivers by improving their health and wellness. Atlas will provide Con-way Truckload an ergonomics program designed to help drivers avoid discomfort and fatigue, thus reducing driver risk of injury both in and out of the tractor.

“Providing drivers a healthy and attractive work environment through modern ergonomics ensures Con-way continues to deliver high levels of service and remain an attractive employer,” says John Labrie, president of Con-way Truckload Services. “It’s a good investment. We already provide high-quality equipment and will now offer new and current drivers the opportunity for greater physical comfort while at work. By doing so, everyone wins.” Implementation of the Atlas program at Con-way Truckload in Memphis, Tenn., will begin in December.

“Con-way has always been a leader in the less-than-truckload market, and now, by adopting the Atlas program, they are clearly setting a progressive and forward-thinking tone for the truckload marketplace,” says Jim Landsman, president of Grand Haven, Mich.-based Atlas Ergonomics. “This underscores their commitment to the market and to the success of their people.”
