Morgan sells AHS to Loading Automation

Loading Automation, a materials handling systems integration company, announced Thursday, Dec. 21, that it has acquired Advanced Handling Systems, another materials handling and systems integration firm, from Morgan Corp. Terms of the acquisition were not announced.

As part of the sale, Loading Automation assumes all assets, inventory, trademarks, patents, names pertaining to AHS and responsibility for aftermarket parts and warranty. As part of the transaction, AHS products will remain available through Morgan, as Morgan will become a national distributor for Loading Automation.

Established in 1985, Morgantown, Pa.-based AHS delivers materials handling solutions for clients throughout the United States, including project planning, design, engineering, project management, installation and systems integration services.

Loading Automation, of Wilmington, N.C., specializes in “turn-key” automated trailer loading and logistics systems. Loading Automation designs equipment and conveyor systems to meet specific and unique requirements for automating the shipping and receiving processes.

Morgan, headquartered in Morgantown, is the country’s largest manufacturer of Class 3 to 7 dry freight and refrigerated truck bodies. Morgan facilities are located throughout the United States and Canada.
