Trucking firms will have a chance to learn more about lane departure warning systems (LDWS) when several motor carrier safety directors share their real-world LDWS experiences with their peers during a live “webinar” sponsored by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. The 90-minute webinar is scheduled for Tuesday, March 20, at 11 a.m. ET.
The American Transportation Research Institute also will be participating on the webinar, along with Dean Newell, vice president of safety for Maverick Transportation, and Jerry Waddell, director of safety for Cargo Transporters. Both fleets have operated hundreds of LDWS on their fleets, and will talk candidly about the role of LDWS in improving safety.
The LDWS webinar will be the first of several webinar events that will highlight industry experiences with onboard safety technologies. Future webinars are planned to address rollover stability systems and collision warning systems.
To register for the webinar, e-mail [email protected] and include the words “LDWS Webinar” in the subject line. Confirmation notices will be e-mailed and will contain the Web address, phone number and other relevant information. Registrations, which will offer preference to motor carriers, will be accepted for up to 150 people. In the event that interest exceeds capacity, future sessions may be offered.
