Utility Trailer Manufacturing Co. – a manufacturer of dry freight vans, reefers, flatbeds and Tautliner curtainsided trailers – is featuring its 3000R reefer and 4000D-X thin-wall dry van at the Mid-America Trucking Show on March 22-24 in Louisville, Ky.

“It’s easy to see why the 3000R is the number-one selling reefer in North America for 12 years, and why the 4000D-X is a force among thin-wall trailers,” says Craig Bennett, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Utility Trailer, based in City of Industry, Calif. “We continually push the envelope in providing an exhaustive selection of standard features that go beyond industry standards.”

Designed from the ground up for low tare weight and high payloads, the 3000R reefer provides greater quality and higher standard features to give customers more productivity, according to Utility. The 3000R comes packed with standard features that exceed industry standards, including a patented 16,000-pound floor system, corrosion protection, patented Barrier rear doors, foam-in-place insulation, high-strength rear bumper, stainless-steel rear door frame, LED lights and much more.

“The 3000R is an engineering aspiration of others,” Bennett says. “We set the standard for the number of standard features offered in reefers that make our 3000R built to deliver.”

The 4000D-X patented thin-wall design, engineered for strength and productivity, competes in its market segment by combining an aluminum exterior skin with 80K steel interior panels separated by a core material. The company says the 4000D-X comes packed with standard features that exceed industry standards, including Snag Free recessed squeezed rivets, stainless-steel rear door frame, heavy-duty kingpin assembly, reinforced floors, integrated rear threshold plate, patented 80k flush steel side posts, white lining panels, LED lights and much more.

“The 4000D-X raises the standard with an extensive array of standard features offered in dry vans that make our thin-wall dry van built to deliver,” Bennett says. “We have a well-established reputation of providing a high number of standard features that improve productivity and reduce maintenance costs, and the 4000D-X reflects our ongoing dedication to providing a solidly engineered product to compete with other forms of thin-wall trailers, such as the plate trailer.”

Utility also has announced that it has selected two manufacturers to provide standard equipment for its complete trailer line:

  • Stemco’s Platinum Performance System is now the standard wheel end equipment. Designed to provide increased productivity and reduced maintenance costs, the system includes the Stemco Guardian HP Oil Seal, the Stemco Pro-Torq Spindle Nut and Stemco integrated Sentinel hubcap. Made to reduce downtime, the Platinum Performance System is backed by a five-year warranty.
  • The Hendrickson Quik-Draw pneumatic slider pin-pull system is now standard equipment on all reefers and dry vans. Triggered with a simple pull of a knob, the pneumatic slider pull-pin system helps improve driver productivity by making it faster for drivers to move the gear. Leveraging the trailer’s air system and applying continuous pressure, the Hendrickson Quik-Draw is designed to eliminate the tugging, hammering and jerking that are part of the everyday experience with manual slider pins, making the driver’s job easier.
  • MATS (www.truckingshow.com) will be held at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. Utility Trailer’s booth is No. 5400. For more information, go to www.utilitytrailer.com.
