Dedicated Transport, a privately held company headquartered in Cleveland, announced Thursday, March 15, the acquisition of Baker’s Transport Service of Lakeland, Fla. Terms were not made public.
Baker’s Transport Service provides bulk trucking services to water treatment and power generating plants throughout Florida. Dedicated Transport will retain Baker’s management and its 20 drivers, and plans to hire an additional 10 drivers over the next year.
“The service Baker’s Transport Service provides is unique, serving a niche market that can be replicated elsewhere in the country,” says Frank Wagner, president and chief executive officer of Dedicated Transport. “We are excited about this acquisition because we were able to retain good employees with a great work ethic. It also fits our Southeastern growth strategy, which calls for Dedicated Transport to acquire a number of mid-size trucking companies over the next few years.”
Dedicated Transport provides dedicated contract trucking and logistics services to manufacturers, distributors and retailers throughout the Midwest and Eastern half of the United States.
