How a commercial fleet can reduce costs by adding the Meritor Tire Inflation System by PSI is explained by Carl Tapp, vice president of maintenance for P.A.M. Transport, in a video produced by BigTruckTV.
Tapp says that P.A.M. Transport, based in Tontitown, Ark., has experienced a 50 percent advantage in tire costs by adding automatic tire inflation systems — MTIS, in particular — on all of P.A.M.’s trailers. Frank Sonzala, executive vice president of San Antonio-based Pressure Systems International, believes any fleet adding MTIS will see similar results. “Fleets that have tracked results consistently report better fuel economy and reduced tire costs after adding MTIS,” Sonzala says. “And to have Carl, who is very thorough in testing, recording and analyzing his data, featured with his results tells the story better than we can.”
