Akron, Ohio-based Highway Safety & Technology says it can help police officers enforce laws against cell phone use while driving better than they can using only visual observation.
“Automated detection of drivers using cell phones is a reality today,” says HST President Michael Rosen. , President and CEO of Highway Safety & Technology (HST). The company says its Cellular Detection System will be ready for use by municipalities in the United States this fall. The system uses electronic-sensing equipment that can be either pole-mounted or installed on a mobile unit.
