Greatwide Logistics Services – a provider of non-asset-based transportation and third-party logistics – has announced that Kevin S. Wicks has joined the company’s Greatwide Distribution Logistics business unit as vice president of business development.

With nearly 25 years of experience in the logistics profession, Wicks’ career has focused on creating solutions to complex transportation and third-party (3PL) logistics challenges for a wide range of customers, such as Wal-Mart, Home Depot, J.C. Penney, Pier I, Neiman Marcus and The Bombay Co. In his new position, Wicks will lead Greatwide Distribution Logistics’ sales organization, focusing on enhancing the value current customers receive from the company and expanding Greatwide’s depth and breadth of service in the 3PL industry.

“During the past several months, we’ve been building our executive leadership, bringing new skill sets and perspectives to Greatwide Distribution Logistics,” says Vin Gulisano, president of the Dallas-based company. “Bringing substantially greater value to the entire supply chain is the mandate of American manufacturing and retailing. I think Kevin has the leadership talent to help us do just that.”

Wicks brings a wide range of experience and capabilities to his new position, including an extensive series of operational and leadership posts with Roadway Express. He also has worked at Kuehne and Nagel and, most recently, at New Breed Logistics. A member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, Wicks served as chairman of the retail track at the organization’s 2006 annual conference. He has been involved in the Warehousing Education and Research Council, and has been an associate member of Retail Industry Leaders Association.
