Hino Trucks recently announced that it has grown its U.S. dealer network to 150 nationwide dealerships, with plans to add up to 30 additional dealers during the 2007 fiscal year.

Hino says that since the inception of its conventional truck model in 2004, the company has grown from its initial base of 84 U.S. authorized dealers, an increase of 56 percent in less than three years. The company credits continued high demand for new trucks, as well as a growing need to expand its dealer network to serve a growing population of trucks, as the main contributing factors. Hino says that in a little less than three years, it has sold more than 16,000 Class 4-7 light- and medium-duty trucks.

“Due to our sold-out situation last year, we were limited to the number of new dealers we could add,” says Debbie Morello, dealer development manager for Hino Trucks, the Bloomfield, Mich.-based distribution arm of Hino Motors Ltd. “Our plan for our 2007 fiscal year is to add dealer points in 35 priority markets, giving us a dealer point in each of the top 150 medium-duty markets in the U.S.”
