Trans-United recently celebrated the grand opening of its expanded facility with an open house at its main headquarters in Burns Harbor, Ind. About 300 customers, drivers, family members and transportation industry leaders enjoyed barbeque and live music at the May 19 event.

The company says the 30,000-square-foot building has a spacious operations center, a workout room, full kitchen, conference room and an orientation/training room. The drivers’ lounge has men’s and women’s showers, Internet access, flat-screen satellite television, laundry facilities, an outdoor grill and more.

The new terminal also has a three-bay maintenance facility with room to service six trucks, a heated 88-foot drive-through wash bay available to all TU drivers at no charge, and a separate trailer fabrication shop.
