TSI/SSG designed its model 6138-19.5 and 6138-22.5 heavy-duty truck tire adapters for siping nonmounted super singles. Nonmounted super-single 19.5 or 22.5 tires are too large for the expanding rims on the company’s STE-M siper and, up until now, they only could be siped after being mounted on the wheel.
The 6138 models now give the user the ability to sipe these large super singles without them being mounted on the wheel, the company says; the adapters’ plates utilize the standard siper arbor shaft and retaining nuts and can be used on either TSI/SSG’s ST or STE-M.
