Atlas Van Lines employees creatively constructed nonperishable foods into a horse track and a wishing well in their annual CanDo contest, in the process collecting nearly 4,000 food items for the hungry. For more than 15 years, employees at Atlas’ headquarters in Evansville, Ind., have supported the local Tri-State Food Bank by using canned and boxed goods to build architectural masterpieces.

The 400 employees were divided into nine departments for the competition. This year’s winning department, risk management, created a “food pathway” to win first place and a pizza party. A wishing well on the theme of “We Can Wish Away Hunger,” created by the financial services department, won second place and a doughnut breakfast.

For Veterans Day, Atlas transported 2,600 U.S. flags from Sandy, Utah, to Bath, Maine, free of charge. The flags were displayed by the American Legion along Interstate 95 and in “healing fields” statewide.

Further demonstrating its support for the military, Atlas recognized its top three agents in military sales at the 60th annual Atlas Convention, held earlier this month in Orlando, Fla. Military Sales Award recipients were:
