McLeod Software — a provider of dispatch, accounting and enterprise management solutions for trucking and brokerage firms — announced today, Nov. 29, a new module for its LoadMaster enterprise transportation management system. The LoadMaster GPS Fuel Tax Module is designed to save fleet operators time and money by using GPS position data captured from the LoadMaster Symphony Mobile Communication interface to streamline reporting processes and produce accurate in-state miles for each of the tractor’s movements.
“This latest enhancement to our enterprise management system automatically associates GPS positions with a particular movement and uses those points to calculate more accurate in-state mileage for fuel tax reporting,” says Tom McLeod, president and founder of Birmingham, Ala.-based McLeod Software. “Fleets that are still using manual driver trip sheets to generate necessary fuel tax reporting data can now automate the collection of fuel and mileage information with this new GPS Fuel Tax Module.”
The LoadMaster GPS Fuel Tax Module eliminates data entry for fuel tax processing by using the position data already captured in the McLeod Symphony Communications Module and comparing mobile communication system position reports to actual dispatch dates and times, the company says; after any adjustments, the GPS distance can be transferred to the fuel tax module for reporting purposes. The GPS Fuel Tax Module also allows users to exclude an individual position, a particular movement or specific tractors from the fuel tax processing, according to McLeod Software.
