Navman Wireless North America, a global provider of vehicle tracking and fleet management solutions, has announced powerful new enhancements to its next-generation vehicle tracking and logistics software, OnlineAVL2. Navman Wireless’ new capabilities come only two months after the new software’s premiere.

The OnlineAVL2 solution now includes three versatile new features: an integrated maintenance module, state mileage reporting and automated e-mail reporting. Combining this new functionality with real-time vehicle position, activity data collection and satellite imagery, Navman Wireless says OnlineAVL2 offers companies the most advanced fleet management solution to increase efficiency and improve business operation.

The maintenance module provides an overview and detailed summaries of fleet maintenance activities. Reducing downtime caused by breakdowns and other unforeseen mechanical problems resulting from neglected repairs, the module tracks user-defined maintenance activities such as service dates, times, costs and provider, the company says. The Navman Wireless OnlineAVL2’s integrated maintenance module can track all maintenance needs, including oil changes, license renewal, inspection, tire rotation and mileage, to name a few. Managers can specify how the data is reported (e.g. by date, number of miles or days on the road); in addition, the maintenance module allows users to pre-set warning periods for alerts regarding fleet service needs.

Using latitude and longitude data from GPS logs, the software’s state mileage reporting eliminates the timely tax requirement of tracking mileage manually by state, the company says; with the touch of a button, OnlineAVL2 automatically can produce accurate state mileage reports for every vehicle in the fleet, simplifying mandatory International Fuel Tax Agreement form completion.

OnlineAVL2 also facilitates seamless report generation and distribution with automated e-mail reporting. Using a Microsoft Outlook-like interface, fleet managers can create templates, define reporting frequencies and select multiple recipients for each report, eliminating the need to query the system for data and distribute information manually. Automated e-mail reports can be sent using a variety of format options, including .pdf, .xls, .xml or .csv.
