Penske Truck Leasing has announced the opening of state-of-the-art facilities in West Haven, Conn., Elk Grove, Ill., and Cranston, R.I. Penske also has introduced a new structure in West Babylon, N.Y.

These one-story locations offer commercial and consumer truck rental services, full-service truck leasing and contract maintenance. Penske says a wireless technology component allows service technicians to integrate various vehicle diagnostic and repair software; also, GE light bulbs using 50 percent less energy have been installed in each of these buildings.

The West Haven eight-acre location is 13,000 square feet, employs 14 associates, maintains more than 250 vehicles onsite and serves nearly 50 customers. It has three service bays, a truck wash bay and a three-lane fuel island. It replaces an older New Haven facility.

Located in suburban Chicago, the Elk Grove building is 24,000 square feet and housed on 7.5 acres. It employs 60 associates, provides services to nearly 180 customers and maintains more than 1,200 vehicles. It has five service bays, an automated truck washing bay and a three-lane fuel island. An outdated Penske facility located just down the street in Elk Grove was closed.

The Cranston location, just outside Providence, is 21,000 square feet and employs nearly 40 associates. The 8.5-acre property maintains more than 650 vehicles and provides services to more than 125 customers. It has four service bays, a truck wash bay and a three-lane fuel island. Previously, the company operated two out-of-date structures within a five-mile radius, in Cranston and Warwick.

The West Babylon building is 15,000 square feet and represents a new market for Penske in Long Island. The four-acre property maintains more than 200 vehicles and features seven service bays.
