Networkcar, a provider of wireless fleet management and a wholly owned subsidiary of Hughes Telematics, announced that the company is changing its name to Networkfleet. The company says the name change and corresponding new brand image reflects its sole focus on helping commercial and government fleets to increase operating efficiency and reduce costs.

The company, which is approaching its 10-year anniversary, also announced its recent move to a larger, newly renovated building in San Diego to expand its headquarters. This new building nearly doubles the company’s office space to accommodate current and future growth.

“By taking the name of our successful product, the company is aligning its strategy, mission and messages,” says Keith Schneider, president of Networkfleet. “The new name preserves our longstanding successful image and further strengthens the company’s reputation as innovative and successful. There are many small competitors in this business, and customers are looking for a stable partner. While market consolidation will inevitably occur, Networkfleet will continue to innovate and thrive.”

Networkfleet says the company and its affiliates now have more than 50 patents issued or pending surrounding vehicle diagnostics. Customers include service fleets, delivery, transportation services, construction and all levels of government. The company says its technology also has been integrated with a wide range of fleet applications and is offered through a vast network of resellers, VARS and partners, including PHH Arval, Wright Express, AssetWorks and ProMiles, among others.
