J.J. Keller & Associates has announced its sponsorship of Seavey’s Iditarod Racing Team for the third consecutive year. In 2007, J.J. Keller sponsored Dallas Seavey, the youngest musher ever to finish the Iditarod; and in 2008, the company sponsored Dallas’ father, Mitch, the 2004 Iditarod Champion and 2008 All-Alaska Sweepstakes Champion (Dallas did not compete in 2008).

“I’m delighted to once again be ‘mushing together to Nome’ with Seavey’s Iditarod Racing Team,” says James J. Keller, president and chief operating officer of the Neenah, Wis.-based company. “And with two experienced mushers leading the way, we just might bring a J.J. Keller 2009 Iditarod championship celebration to northeast Wisconsin.”

The 2009 Iditarod will begin in Anchorage, Alaska, on March 7 and end 9-to-13 days later in Nome. Keller and his wife, Rosanne, along with their son, Brian, and his fiancée, Meghan, again will be in Anchorage for the start of the race and in Nome to welcome the mushers across the finish line. The family filmed and published an Iditarod Adventure DVD in 2007 and 2008 to share the experience with associates, customers, schools and friends, and planning already is under way to film a 2009 edition.

Keller says the company’s sponsorship is to salute one of the original forms of transportation and to salute trucking professionals who dedicate themselves to transporting needed goods. “The Iditarod is a world-class event that definitely takes transportation to the extreme,” he says. “J.J. Keller has been partnering with transporters since 1953. We know they work in challenging, often extreme conditions, and we admire their extreme commitment to a job well done.”
