Cadec Global, a provider of advanced fleet management solutions, and Blue Sky Technologies, a real-time supply chain visibility software provider, on Tuesday, Jan. 20, announced a technology partnership intended to help trucking fleets collect objective data that will help them make better business decisions.

Cadec’s Mobius TTS fleet management software helps trucking fleets monitor driver behavior, improve safety and reduce costs. Blue Sky’s Insight supply chain visibility application helps provide the ability to measure key indicators, monitor process improvements and maintain performance across the extended supply chain.

The first deliverable of the partnership was Mobius Insight. Launched in October 2008, it is an add-on to Cadec’s Mobius TTS designed to provide preconfigured business dashboards for transportation executives on safety, customer service, compliance, maintenance and costs. “We’ve been very encouraged by the strong response to Mobius Insight since it launched,” says Michael Baney, chief executive officer of Manchester, N.H.-based Cadec. “In today’s economy, companies have to be smarter than ever about running their fleets. There is a tremendous opportunity to extend supply chain management initiatives all the way out to the truck cab, to cover the front lines. Cadec’s partnership with Blue Sky provides the business intelligence needed to accomplish that.”

Cadec and Blue Sky plan to expand their joint solution set beyond Mobius Insight throughout 2009. “Greater visibility into the supply chain can bring incredible efficiencies to any transportation operation, because there are so many moving parts,” says Steve Hensley, president of Coppell, Texas-based Blue Sky. “Cadec is well established and respected among fleet managers. I can’t imagine a better partner for us in the transportation industry.”
