Prospera, J.J. Keller’s online management tool that advises on the core areas of a human resources program, has launched an enhanced version of the Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) feature based on the feedback of subscribers. The company says it now provides subscribers with a more comprehensive tool that meets regulatory requirements and can provide significant cost savings to those that utilize the feature.
Prospera’s newly enhanced AAP feature outlines the policies, practices and procedures that a company is committed to applying in order to implement a policy of nondiscrimination and affirmative action. It also analyzes a company’s work force and helps them set annual goals based on their internal and external recruiting efforts. In addition to the creation of the AAP, this feature assists in creating a company’s Periodic Progress Report and Veteran and Disability Report.
While it is required only for government contractors that have contracts in excess of $50,000 per year and employ at least 50 employees, it still is considered best practice for all organizations to develop an AAP to ensure that all qualified applicants and employees are receiving an equal opportunity for recruitment, selection, advancement and every other term and privilege associated with employment.
“On average, if a company outsources the development of an AAP each year, it will cost several thousand dollars,” says Rustin Keller, corporate Internet products manager for Neenah, Wis.-based J.J.
