RITA, European Commission sign ITS research cooperation agreement

The Research and Innovative Technology Administration (RITA) announced that it has established a partnership with the European Commission (EC) to conduct cooperative research on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) applications for surface transportation.

The five-year commitment between the two organizations is intended to further the development and implementation of global ITS initiatives, with an emphasis on vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communications for safety and mobility.
