Tindall Corp. announced that it is implementing Melton Technologies Inc.’s Horizon trucking software for its private fleet subsidiary, Tindall Hauling and Erection. The company says it evaluated several providers prior to choosing Horizon for its ability to tailor the software to its specific driver payment methodology.

“We looked at a number of vendors for this project,” says Gerald Myers, transportation manager for Spartanburg, S.C.-based Tindall. “We needed a company that we felt we could work with closely and who could respond accurately and rapidly to the changes we are making in our systems, and notably in the way we compensate our drivers. We have a sophisticated set of parameters that we have developed over the years to pay the drivers, and we needed a supplier who could seamlessly integrate these elements into the big picture. Melton Technologies stood out from the crowd in this and other respects. They were able to win the confidence of our IT staff, as well as our dispatchers and billing associates. We are delighted with the solutions we are putting into place now.”

“We are honored and excited to be a part of the fleet modernization going on at Tindall,” says Ben Keller, general manager of Winston-Salem, N.C.-based MTI. “Horizon is a nearly perfect fit for them. They needed a product that is capable of very sophisticated processes but also very easy for the operators to learn and use. Horizon’s ability to import order and shipment data from the AS400 legacy systems and have that same data flow through the entire dispatch, billing and pay processes was a key element for them. That Tindall’s IT staff was able to play a crucial role in the forms validation process built into Horizon was also highly valued. We are looking forward to a partner relationship that will benefit both firms for many years to come.”
