Kinedyne has launched its first Kinedyne Cares College Scholarship Program, which offers a $2,500 award to one applicant each from the Alabama and Minnesota state trucking associations. An online entry form is available here.

To enter, applicants must submit an entry form and write an essay, of no more than 500 words, addressing the topic “How the trucking industry has had a positive impact on my life.” Qualified candidates must be in good standing with the Alabama Trucking Association or Minnesota Trucking Association, or directly related to one of its members. In addition, candidates must currently be enrolled or in the process of enrolling in a college or university. The submission deadline is April 30.

“Particularly in today’s economic environment, every little bit helps when funding a college education,” says James Klausmann II, executive vice president of Branchburg, N.J.-based Kinedyne. “We initiated this scholarship program as part of our Kinedyne Cares program, to help provide a degree of assistance to deserving families within our own industry. If all goes well, we’ll certainly consider expanding the program in the future.”

The Kinedyne Cares initiative was launched in 2008 as part of the company’s ongoing effort to give back to the trucking industry and professional drivers employed in the transportation sector.
