Pilot Travel Centers announced at the Technology & Maintenance Council meeting in Orlando, Fla., that it will roll out 25 bulk diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) dispensing units per quarter, starting in the third quarter of this year. Ultimately, 100 of Pilot’s locations nationally will have bulk dispensing capabilities conveniently located at fuel islands, and all 328 truckstops will have packaged containers of DEF for sale inside.
According to Patrick Deptula, director of design and construction for Pilot, the company will begin ordering the equipment for bulk dispensing units in the next few weeks. The equipment will be state-of-the-art and designed to store, pump and transact DEF to customers in a variety of climates and conditions, Deptula says.
