Collignon now GM at Volvo Trucks North America New River Valley Plant

Patrick Collignon was named plant manager at Volvo Trucks North America’s New River Valley Plant in Dublin, Va. He assumed his new role in December 2008.

From 2005 until taking on his current position, Collignon was general manager of Volvo Trucks’ plant in Ghent, Belgium, Volvo’s largest truck plant in Europe. Under his leadership, the Ghent plant instituted programs aimed at lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and waste reduction. In 2007, the facility became the first CO2-neutral truck plant in the world, according to the company.

Collignon, an industrial engineer, joined Volvo Trucks in Ghent in 1995. From 1985 to 1995, he worked for General Motors in Europe and North America in a variety of engineering and production positions.
