Vigillo — provider of a Web-based risk management platform for the delivery of policies, forms, training, assessments and scorecards to the trucking industry — announced today, Feb. 24, that it has formed an alliance with Instructional Technologies Inc. Under the agreement, Vigillo’s Web-based Software as a Service (SaaS) risk management system will be combined with ITI’s computer-based in-cab truck driver training programs to help manage training records and measure compliance.

“In-cab training and compliance measurement is the way of the future,” says Steven G. Bryan, chief executive officer of Portland, Ore.-based Vigillo. “We are already working with major providers of mobile systems, including Cadec, DriverTech, PeopleNet, Qualcomm, Xata and Routeware, and with this alliance, we can monitor and scorecard online training materials from Instructional Technologies Inc. on those platforms. That combination of technologies will enable our customers to more easily meet training requirements and monitor compliance, reducing risk, and improving management and driver productivity, and safety.”

Vigillo says its system reduces time-consuming tasks involved in preparing compliance documentation and organizes policies, procedures, training and workflow. For its clients, the company pinpoints areas of noncompliance and identifies solutions using its Scorecard Suite of reports. The customizable Scorecard includes a risk score for drivers based on factors such as accidents, customer service, rules violations, training and incidents. Also included are details on incidents and training activity, and data from onboard systems on fuel consumption, speed and hard-braking activity for individual drivers, groups of drivers, managers and locations.

ITI Pro-Tread and Pro-Tread In-Cab truck driver training programs include a growing number of 54 interactive self-paced lessons that run from 25 to 40 minutes in length. Topics on the list of offerings from ITI include Driver Safety & Regulatory Training Lessons, Federally-Required Entry-Level Courses, Tanker Courses and HazMat Targeted Training.
