Express-1 Expedited Solutions Inc. has announced the resignation of its chief financial officer and board member, Mark Patterson. The company says Patterson’s departure is related to his desire to join a family-owned enterprise in Tennessee and is not connected to any disputes or disagreements with management or the board of directors. Patterson’s last official day will be Friday, April 3.
“Mark’s experience was instrumental in our acquisition of Concert Group Logistics and the startup of Bounce Logistics,” says Mike Welch, chief executive officer of St. Joseph, Mich.-based Express-1 Expedited Solutions. “Mark’s vision and understanding of transportation will be missed. We wish Mark the best and understand how difficult his decision was. Ultimately, the allure of returning home to work for this family business was too strong.”
Jennifer Dorris, chairperson of the company’s audit committee of the board of directors, says the company’s finance staff and management team will help bridge the gaps and manage financial affairs until a new CFO is appointed at a later date.
