Cummins Filtration announced that it has expanded its product line to include convenient smaller-sized packaging options as well as dispensing equipment for diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). Previously offered in bulk 330-gallon plastic totes, 275-gallon disposable totes and 55-gallon plastic drums, Fleetguard DEF now also is available in 1-gallon, 2.5-gallon and 5-gallon containers. The dispensing equipment offered includes air and electric pumps for both drums and totes.

In addition to expanding its DEF product line, Cummins Filtration says it recently gained API certification for its DEF product. API certification is a voluntary program established by the American Petroleum Institute to certify and monitor DEF throughout the supply chain from manufacturing to the end customer to ensure that product meets ISO specifications.

“Meeting the ISO specifications and adhering to the API certification process helps to reassure our customers that they have chosen a reliable DEF source with the consistent high-quality controls required to optimize and protect their equipment investment,” says KC Hall, director of diesel exhaust fluid business development.

The extended range of Fleetguard DEF products is available to the broad Cummins Filtration network, which includes more than 20,000 locations with nearly 8,000 retailers in North America. The company says this network will have the option to order DEF along with their filter and coolant products they are receiving from Cummins Filtration today.

“When one considers the supplier administration and transportation costs of alternative DEF supply, we believe our freight-included DEF offering will be an attractive alternative for many of our delivery locations,” Hall says. “We can also offer dedicated, streamlined DEF shipments as desired by our customers and as the DEF consumption demand grows in the future.”
