Volvo Trucks North America says it is making sure as many customers as possible see its U.S. Environmental Protection Agency 2010 emissions technology in action through its “No Regen Engine” tour. Volvo Trucks says that more than 1,000 customers already have learned firsthand about its selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology, and how SCR eliminates diesel particulate filter (DPF) active regenerations for EPA’s 2010 emissions standards.

The No Regen Engine tour uses Volvo Truck dealerships across the United States and Canada as venues to present a comprehensive explanation and demonstration of SCR; 26 events have been held so far. As part of the experience, customers are given the opportunity to inspect and drive a production-ready EPA 2010 Volvo VN, as well as handle samples of diesel exhaust fluid (DEF).

“The response to the No Regen Engine tour’s messages has been overwhelmingly positive,” says Scott Kress, senior vice president of sales and marketing. “Our customers are intensely interested in SCR and really want to understand how it will work for their operations.”

The No Regen Engine tour will continue through September, with about 70 dealer-customer events planned. Customers should contact their local Volvo Trucks dealer for information on tour events in their area.
