Hendrickson Truck Suspension Systems officials announced that its Steertek front steer axle is now standard on International ProStar and TranStar vehicle models. Steertek became the standard offering on the International LoneStar model in 2008.
Based on proprietary design and manufacturing technology, Steertek’s fabricated design saves up to 27 pounds compared to traditional I-beam axles and provides outstanding ride and stability for a premium combination of weight savings and comfort, according to Hendrickson.
“We are pleased with International’s decision to upgrade their standard position axle to Steertek, our lightweight alternative to traditional I-beam axles,” says Doug Sanford, vice president and general manager for Hendrickson’s Truck Systems Group, based in Woodridge, Ill. “As truck weights continue to increase, Hendrickson remains committed to reliable weight-saving options.”
