David P. Trucano, a managing director of Centerbridge Partners, has been appointed to the Dana Holding Corp. board of directors and will serve on the board’s audit committee and compensation committee. Trucano’s appointment follows the resignation of former Dana board member Stephen J. Girsky, who recently was appointed as a member of the board of directors of General Motors Co.

“I want to thank Steve, who served as our lead director since emergence, for his significant contributions to the Dana board during a most challenging period,” says John Devine, executive chairman of the Toledo, Ohio-based company. “We wish him the best with GM. At the same time, we are very pleased to add the deep financial expertise and perspective that Dave brings to our board of directors.”

Trucano, 38, joined Centerbridge Partners, a multistrategy investment firm, in 2007. Immediately prior to joining Centerbridge, he was a vice president at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he worked in the special situations group within the fixed income, currencies and commodities division in both London and New York. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs in 2004, he worked at Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin, where he advised creditors and companies involved in financial restructuring transactions.
