Ruan Transport Corp. announced that driver Bruce Banwell has received the Ruan Million Mile Safety Award in recognition of his one million miles of accident-free driving for the Des Moines, Iowa-based company.
“I worked with Bruce as a dispatcher before becoming his manager,” says Tim Laffoon, Banwell’s manager. “He has always been willing to go the extra mile and help with whatever our company or our customers need. When he retired in 2003, he went part-time and now drives because he enjoys it. Bruce is the type of driver that keeps Ruan on the road.”
Banwell, who has driven for Ruan for 17 years, will be presented his award at the annual safety recognition banquet in November, where he will receive a personal plaque of recognition.
