PPG announces training schedule

PPG Automotive Refinish has released its 2009 fourth-quarter MVP Green Belt Training schedule. The training, a four-day intensive learning event, is intended for collision center owners and managers, and teaches the practical applications of Lean Six Sigma techniques to boost quality, speed, cost performance and competitiveness at repair facilities.

The training will be offered Oct. 5-8 in Albuquerque, N.M.; Nov. 16-20 in Eagan, Minn.; and Dec. 7-10 in Los Angeles. A class scheduled for Sept. 21-25 in Syracuse, N.Y., is sold out.

Key Green Belt Training program elements include:

  • Success factors that enable organizations to thrive in rapidly changing environments;
  • Simulation games to learn Lean Six Sigma fundamentals and what cycle time reduction means to the collision repair processes;
  • Practical application of Lean Six Sigma principles through X-Ray Repair Planning and fundamentals such as 5S and Workplace Organization;
  • Leadership and implementation modules that address the need for everyone in an organization to participate in building stronger processes and a process improvement culture; and
  • Shop tours and assignments to reinforce the understanding and confidence critical to successful implementation.
